Boys vocational programs provided opportunities to learn a huge variety of skills, although students were required to choose one as their focus. Options included welding, construction trades, shoe making, auto mechanics, carpentry, and electronics. These programs were designed to give students not planning on college a usable trade that would ensure employment.
