Full Bloom

I read an article in the St.Louis newspaper about a company called Masterlooms unveiling a collection of chain-stitch rugs based on old quilt designs from the Museum of American Folk Art, so I decided to use a chain-stitch rug design for a quilt. I enlarged the basic rug pattern and then changed several of the flowers on the design. I used the leaves and berries from the center of the quilt for an applique border, but it was too plain so I added more animals. This quilt became my statement for organic gardening.
