Girls Vocational Programs

Sewing was popular with girls at the school. While the school did not provide money for clothing, girls could make their own clothes in sewing class, c. 1967.
Girls vocational programs focused on skills for what were considered appropriate careers for women (which, in the 1950s, did not include Drivers Education). These classes mostly focused on home economics, including sewing, decorating, serving meals, hair dressing, etc., but also included nursing and dental assisting.
