In Dulci Jubilo
This crib quilt was designed to use up the central quatrefoil of gold-colored silk dupion, which had been cut from under a piece of applique on another piece of work. American wholecloth quilts of the 18th century inspired the quilting patterns, particularly the feather pattern that joins the gold center to the white border, which Harvey saw on a quilt at the Metropolitan Museum in New York. She matched the color of the gold silk with non-toxic fabric paint to bring the main color outwards onto the white silk border. The central hearts and bows have been "trapunto'd."
