Sleeping In My Heart

This quilt is a tribute to my mother's Tschechoslowakien background. The dress in the quilt is a Slovakian costume. Some of the material I used was from a dress that belonged to my mother. When it became too small for her to wear, she took it apart and gave it to me saying, "You will do something with it." Years went by with the guilt bug whispering in my ear. It took a long time, but I finally visualized this quilt and was able to use some of her material in the dress. Since my mother was a talented seamstress, I was able to use the crochet embellishments on two of her pillowcases on the bottom of the costume's sleeves.
