Waratah

Most of my art comes from photos I take on trips or inspired by the sites I see on my travels. The Waratah is the flower of New South Wales. I discovered it when preparing for a trip to one of my favorite places, Australia. While visiting the country, all my husband Joe wanted to see were the boxing kangaroos, so of course I had to add the Kangaroo paws to this quilt. While in Australia, I was moved mostly by the aboriginal artwork we saw at the Modern Art Museum in Sidney.
